Aim Group France UK ↔ FR ROAD FREIGHT

ROUTE · FRANCE → UK

Inbound. France to UK.

French consignor collection through to UK consignee delivery, cleared into the UK via GVMS with import-side declarations handled in-house. Wine, F&D, automotive parts, retail — most of the heavy lifting on this corridor.

FIRST MILE — FRANCE

French pickup, fed northbound.

French collections cover the major commercial regions — Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Grand Est, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, PACA. Pickup operates against the consignor's loading window and feeds the northbound trunk to the Short Strait.

  • French nationwide collection via partner network
  • FTL trailer runs direct from consignor to the Channel
  • LTL feeds the French regional hub for consolidation
  • Export declaration raised with DGDDI before the trailer moves

French customs — outbound

  • AuthorityDGDDI (French customs)
  • EORIFR EORI on the consignor
  • ExportDeclaration via Delta-G
  • CommodityCodes + values on commercial invoice
  • SPSF&D / wine certificates if applicable

SECOND MILE — SHORT STRAIT NORTHBOUND

Channel crossing returning.

Calais → Dover

Ferry crossing. Capacity sized for FTL and consolidated groupage. UKBF inspection regime applies on arrival in the UK; GVMS GMR is the gating document.

Coquelles → Folkestone

Eurotunnel return. Used for express and time-sensitive northbound freight where ferry cadence is too coarse.

THIRD MILE — UK ARRIVAL

GVMS, UK clearance, UK delivery.

The northbound trailer presents at the UK port with the GMR generated in GVMS pre-arrival. UK import declaration is cleared via CDS. For FTL the trailer runs direct to the UK consignee; LTL break-bulk happens at the UK hub and pallets feed UK distribution.

  • GMR raised in GVMS before booking the ferry / tunnel
  • UK import declaration via CDS — duty + VAT calculated by commodity
  • HMRC + UKBF inspections per regime — Border Target Operating Model applies
  • FTL direct delivery · LTL break-bulk at UK hub
  • POD captured at UK consignee, returned to French consignor file

UK customs — import

  • AuthorityHMRC CDS · UKBF · DEFRA (where SPS)
  • EORIGB EORI on the consignee
  • DeclarationCustoms Declaration Service (CDS)
  • Duty/VATCalculated by commodity code; PVA available where deferred
